I’m writing to you to express my strong support for seeing the former K&D site in central Hobart developed for medium-density housing.
With the site now on the market, we have a golden opportunity to transform the central city while building more homes where people want to live, creating a more connected, liveable Hobart. I urge you to do everything in your power to make sure this opportunity isn’t squandered.
We are in a housing crisis. Too many people are struggling to find secure, affordable homes close to jobs, schools and services. The K&D site is perfectly placed for medium-density housing with excellent access to transport and city amenities. It could also provide community spaces, commercial activity and green open space – the right development has the potential to transform the mid-town area.
[Insert your own thoughts here – e.g. “As someone who’s struggled to find housing in Hobart…” or “I’d love to see this area become a place for people, not just cars.”]
I’m concerned that without strong leadership from the University, State Government and Council, this site could be sold off for more car parking or big-box retail. That would be a huge missed opportunity.
Please help make sure this critical piece of land is put to good use.
Yours sincerely,
[Your Name]
